Atlantys campsite lies on the Atlantic coast in the town of Ploemeur.
Man has lived in Ploemeur for thousands of years as you can see from the megalithic monuments which still stand in town today. Man learnt how to use this special land during the Neolithic Age and settled here. Nowadays, Ploemeur is a buzzing port town where life is good. The coastline was designed for fishermen, sardine specialists at the time, but now it’s mainly holidaymakers who flock to the seaside for an ice cream. It’s also a popular surfing hotspot and surf schools have opened here.
Hiking lovers will be delighted to hear that Ploemeur has almost 60km of footpaths to explore the surroundings alongside bike paths. Get back to Mother Nature with a relaxing walk in a stunning setting. Ploemeur’s heritage is also fascinating. Ploemeur means “large parish” in Breton so be sure to visit its ruins…the name says it all.
